This page explains how UOMAK handles information. You can browse without an account or create one to save favorites and submit place or service applications.
Search and using the site
When you search, your search terms and filters appear in the page URL and are used to show results. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information in search. Your light or dark appearance preference is stored locally on your device and is not linked to your account.
Accounts and business applications
When account registration is enabled, account details such as your name and email address are used for sign-in, your profile, and favorites. Place and service applications stay private during review. After approval, the business details and contact methods submitted by the owner may be shown to visitors.
Profile information
Your name is required. Phone number, date of birth, gender, governorate, interests, areas, budget, and outing preferences are optional. We store your birth date as a date, not as a fixed age. Preferences and marketing consent are separate and can be changed from My account. Marketing consent is optional and does not affect essential account-security messages.
Your Google profile photo is displayed from the URL provided by Google. Photos you upload are compressed to WebP and stored in a folder associated with your account in Supabase Storage. The site requests a temporary viewing link when needed and does not expose your account photo as a public download. Do not upload a private photo or one you do not have the right to use.
Changing your email or password
Changing your email depends on confirmation links sent by the authentication provider. Supabase Auth manages your password; UOMAK cannot see it. A Google-only account continues to sign in through Google unless you add another method in account settings.
Permanent account deletion
You can request a code to verify your identity, then explicitly confirm deletion from My account. Deletion removes the authentication account, profile, favorites, notifications, applications, images, place and service pages owned by the account, and related team records. Favorites pointing to a deleted page are also removed because that page no longer exists. If a business is shared with other members or managers, ownership must be transferred or access removed before deletion so their pages are not deleted by mistake.
Deletion is permanent, with no recovery period or block on later registration using the same email. Refresh sessions are invalidated when the account is deleted; short-lived access tokens may remain technically valid until they expire. UOMAK currently has no bookings, payments, or financial obligations.
Signing in with Google
If you choose Google sign-in, authentication is handled through Google and Supabase Auth. We receive the basic account details needed for sign-in, such as your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We use them to create or access your UOMAK account and display your name on your profile. UOMAK does not request access to Gmail or Google Drive.
Measuring site usage
If you consent, the site uses Google Analytics to measure page visits, active users and sessions, most-viewed pages, traffic source, device type, and engagement indicators. These data are not sent before you consent, and we do not send account data or form contents to Google. You can change your choice here at any time. Detailed figures in Google Analytics may take 24 to 48 hours to appear.
Technical usage information
The site hosting and database services may process information needed to operate and secure accounts and the site. UOMAK does not currently support completing bookings or payments.
